Halal has become one of the most abused words in the world. For years, British Muslims felt the need for an independent monitoring system that has a universally accepted Islamic Criteria and monitors Halal products thoroughly from the source to the consumer. In 2003, the Halal Monitoring Committee was established with the support of Scholars nationally and internationally and has since expanded across the UK and abroad. BMA, since its inception, has liaised with the HMC, Lancashire Council of Mosques and local scholars to expand this campaign. The system is primarily rooted in providing satisfaction to Muslim Consumers by providing assurance of genuine Halal.
